Lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, bull sharks, whale sharks, reef and oceanic manta rays... the list is endless! What more could you want to see in one trip?
In this programme we combine a photographic land safari in the Kruger National Park, and a few days of diving in two locations Ponta do Ouro and Praia do Tofo, in Mozambique. We recommend this combination between the months of December to May, as this is the season to see the much sought after sharks at Ponta do Ouro (up to 6 different species can be seen on the same dive).
We recommend a minimum of 3 days to see a small part of the vast expanse of the iconic Kruger National Park. We will follow a route where we will be staying in different camps and getting to know the diversity of fauna and flora that the park has to offer.
Once our African savannah experience was over, on the fourth day we crossed the border to Ponta do Ouro, a 5 hour drive away, where we spent two days diving for sharks.
Up to 19 different species of sharks have been identified here! Mostly at the dive site called "Pinnacles", and it is this that gives the name Isigongo to this experience, which in Zulu means Pinnacle.
The last destination of the trip is Praia do Tofo, 10 hours north by road, so we spend a night halfway at the fabulous Naara Lodge in Chidenguele.
Where to fly
We recommend flying to Maputo with the TAP airline. This flight arrives early in the morning and gives us time to arrive before the gates of the Kruger National Park close the same day. Other airlines that also fly to Maputo are Emirates, Qatar, or Turkish.
Optionally, you can also fly to Nelspruit Kruger Mpumalanga Airport in South Africa via Johannesburg.
For the return flight, the local airline Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) flies from Inhambane to Maputo, where you will spend a final night. If you have flown to Johannesburg, Airlink flies from Inhambane to Johannesburg (in this case the last night in Maputo is not necessary).
We can adjust the itinerary according to your flexibility and preferences.
From your arrival in Africa until your departure, we will always be by your side to accompany you in this experience.
Day 1
ARRIVAL AT KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Arrival at Nelspruit Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (South Africa) or Maputo International Airport (Mozambique). There we will be waiting for you, and after the necessary formalities at the airport, we will transfer by road to the Kruger National Park (KNP, in South Africa).
Once we enter the Park, and depending on the time of arrival, we will take the opportunity to do a first afternoon safari.
The gates to the Park and the camps inside the Park close between 17:30 - 18:30 depending on the time of year.
The main gates we use to enter the park are the Crocodile Gate and Malelane Gate.
On arrival at the camp we will check into the bungalows and have dinner at the camp restaurant (not included).
Day 2 to day 3
SAFARI IN KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Daily breakfast early in the morning half an hour before the opening of the camp. We will do 2 full days game drive in the Kruger National Park (Big 5 territory) where we explore the huge area from the south of the Park to the Shingwedzi River area in the north.
During the day we will make several stops at picnic areas and rest areas. We will make the most of the day until we reach the next camp where we will spend the night.
Dinners, which are not included, will be in the camp restaurants, or we will prepare a barbecue for ourselves.
Optional activities that can be arranged are early morning game drives, or a night safari.

Day 4
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK - PONTA DO OURO
Breakfast half an hour before the opening of the camp. After breakfast we will have a morning game drive to the departure gate.
Before midday we will leave the park and drive to the next destination, Ponta do Ouro, approximately 5 hours across the Komatipoort/Ressano Garcia border.
Lunch, which is not included, will be en route.
On arrival we will check in at the dive centre and accommodation.
Afternoon free to explore the village of Ponta do Ouro and Ponta Malongane.
Dinner, which is not included, can be arranged at the accommodation or at a restaurant in the village.
Day 5 to day 6
ADVENTURE DIVING IN PONTA DO OURO
Daily breakfasts at the accommodation.
Transfers to the dive centre. We will do 2 dives daily in the morning, with an optional third dive in the afternoon or another activity.
Lunches and dinners are not included, and will be at the accommodation or in the restaurants of the village.

Day 7
PONTA DO OURO - CHIDENGUELE
Desayuno en el alojamiento.
Mañana de relax o posibilidad de bucear antes de salir hacia el próximo destino.
El almuerzo, que no está incluido, será en Ponta do Ouro antes de salir, y posteriormente nos trasladamos por carretera a Chidenguele, 6 horas aproximadamente.
A la llegada haremos el check in en el alojamiento, y tendremos tiempo para descansar antes de la cena en el restaurante del alojamiento (no incluida).
Day 8
TRANSFER TO PRAIA DO TOFO
Breakfast at the lodge. Free morning to rest or do some activities in the Inhampavala Lagoon.
Preferably lunch before departure (not included), and then transfer to Praia do Tofo, approximately 4 hours.
Arrival in the afternoon, check in at the accommodation and at the dive centre. Free afternoon to visit the fishing village of Tofo and the neighbouring Praia da Barra.
Dinner, which is not included, can be arranged at the accommodation or at a restaurant in the village.
Day 9 to day 13
ADVENTURE DIVING IN TOFO
Daily breakfasts at the accommodation. Transfers to the dive centre, when necessary. We will do 2 dives daily in the morning, with an optional third dive in the afternoon or other activity.
Lunches and dinners are not included, and will be at the accommodation or in the village restaurants.

Day 14
DAY OFF RELAX
Breakfast at accommodation. Free day without diving.
Relaxation day or optional extra activities: boat trip to swim with whale sharks, dolphins and manta rays, whale watching excursion (July - November), excursion to Inhambane estuary to look for flamingos and snorkel with seahorses, kayaking excursion, sailing or catamaran trip, visit to the islands in the bay, surfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddle, quad bike trip, visits to local villages, guided cultural excursion, massages and relaxation....
Day 15
TRANSFER TO MAPUTO
Breakfast at the accommodation. Morning at leisure.
Transfer by road to Inhambane Airport (20 min). Flight with LAM from Inhambane to Maputo (not included).
Pick up at Maputo Airport and transfer to accommodation.
Dinner, which is not included, can be arranged at the accommodation or at a restaurant in Maputo city.
Day 16

• 50% deposit to confirm the reservation of the Experience and the remaining 50% 60 days before arrival • All payments made by providing credit card details will be charged 5% as bank charges • All payments payments made by bank transfer must be made under the OUR modality (client pays all bank charges) • Paying the deposit accepts our terms and conditions • Canceling 60 days before arrival will incur a charge of 50% of the reservation ( during local holiday periods and holidays will incur a charge of 100% of the reservation) • Canceling after 60 days prior to arrival will incur a charge of 100% of the reservation • If due to inclement weather any boat departure is discontinued, the amount of the same is not refundable • If as a result of force majeure, such as the current pandemic caused by Covid 19, the trip cannot be made on the scheduled dates, the value it is non-refundable and the trip will be scheduled for other dates in accordance with the availability of the client and Mozambique Experience •

During the stay on the land safari we stay in the camps offered by the Kruger National Park. They all have bungalows with capacities from 1 to 4 people, private bathrooms, electricity, barbecue, private and/or community kitchen, laundry, first aid center, shop, restaurant and cafeteria.
Depending on the budget, we can opt for the option of staying in 'huts', which are smaller bungalows with a shared bathroom.
The rest are the options we have to stay between Chidenguele and Praia do Tofo.
All of these include en-suite rooms with the possibility of a double bed or separate beds, cleaning service, Wi-fi, 24-hour security, and some with a swimming pool, bar and restaurant.
