Imagine on the same trip being able to see the Big Five on land and the Big Five at sea up close and personal, and to top it all off by seeing one of the most elusive marine animals on the planet, the dugong!
We start the trip with a 3 day minimum game drive to see a small part of the vast expanse of the iconic Kruger National Park. We will follow a route where we will be staying in different camps inside the park, getting to know the diversity of fauna and flora that it offers.
On the last scheduled day of the overland safari we will depart in the morning, then cross the border into Mozambique and head to the fabulous Naara Lodge in Chidenguele, where we will spend a couple of nights and get some much deserved rest.
In this enclave, kayaks and canoes will allow us to see the fabulous Lake Inhampavala.
The next day, and after having 'recharged our batteries', we head to Praia do Tofo to dive in what we like to call the sea of encounters, where whales, whale sharks, reef and oceanic sharks, rays, sea turtles, dolphins and endless species of tropical fish await us.
After our days of diving in Tofo, we head 300km north to explore the Bazaruto Archipelago Marine Park, believed to be the last viable population of dugongs on the east coast of the African continent.
Where to fly
We recommend flying to Maputo with TAP Airlines. This flight arrives early in the morning and gives us time to arrive before the gates of the Kruger National Park close that day. Other airlines that also fly to Maputo are Emirates, Qatar, or Turkish. Optionally, you can also fly to Nelspruit Kruger Mpumalanga Airport in South Africa via Johannesburg.
For the return flight, the local airline Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) and Airlink fly from Vilanculos to Maputo and Johannesburg.
We can adjust the itinerary according to your flexibility and preferences.
From your arrival in Africa until your departure, we will always be by your side to accompany you in this experience.
